Addison’s Disease

Addison’s disease can result from deficiency in the secretion of adrenicortical hormones (e.g., cortisol, cortisone, corticosterone, aldosterone).  This condition may be caused by progressive destruction of the adrenal gland.  [See also “Adrenal Exhaustion”.]
